Twittering In The Park

Nowadays in a park, you might hear the birds twittering and see a person on a bench Tweeting. That's because the not-for-profit National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), which promotes public parks and recreation opportunities, is encouraging individuals to take photos and post them on their favorite social media sites, like Twitter or Facebook. The NRPA wants you to include in your photos the “This is how we recreate!” sign, which you can download and print. "Let's spread the message virally and throughout the country that parks and recreation are an integral and essential part of our lives," the NRPA says.

Here are some ideas for fun in the park: have a picnic, fly a kite, take a walk, play soccer, ride a bike, Rollerblade, walk the dog, photograph flowers, or play tennis. After all that activity, you might just want to sit in the shade and take a nap.
